What is horary astrology?
Many people are familiar with birth or natal astrology, where a chart is drawn up based on the exact time and place of someone's birth. Horary astrology works in a fundamentally different way. Here, a chart is cast for the exact moment a question is asked. It is not your date of birth that takes centre stage, but the moment of the question itself.
That is at once the great difference — and the great strength — of this method: you do not need a full birth chart. You don't have to know your birth time and you don't need a detailed personality profile. The position of the planets, the houses and the other astrological factors at the moment of the question already say something about the situation you are in and how it may unfold. This gives you a focused answer to precisely that one matter that is at play at that moment.
The technique is steeped in more than twenty centuries of tradition and was widely practised by famous classical astrologers such as William Lilly and, in our own time, John Frawley. It is a complex but particularly valuable instrument for better assessing a problem or situation.
How does a horary consultation work?
A horary consultation is strikingly simple in its set-up. In broad terms it goes like this:
You ask one clear question. You formulate the matter that genuinely concerns you, as clearly and concretely as possible.
The moment is recorded. At the moment your question is received and understood, the chart for that exact moment is cast.
The chart is interpreted. I analyse the positions of the planets and houses according to the classical rules of horary astrology.
You receive a concrete answer. You get a clear analysis in your mailbox — focused, practical and tailored to your question.
A well-formulated question is essential here. The clearer and simpler the question, the sharper the answer. Asking the same question over and over makes no sense: the chart answers the moment you ask the question sincerely and for the first time.

What all these questions have in common: they are concrete, well-defined matters with a yes-or-no direction or a clear choice. That is exactly where horary astrology excels. A question like "What does my whole life look like?" is less suited to this method — that is more the realm of natal astrology. Not sure whether your question is suitable?
